You can avoid this in NetSurf, too. However, it comes with a health
warning - what I'm about to suggest removes _all_ certificate validation
(ie making SSL about as secure as a not very secure thing).
Edit the Netsurf choices file (Choices:WWW.NetSurf.Choices) and
change the
line:
ssl_verify_certificates:1 to ssl_verify_certificates:0
Ideally, we'd want to implement some sort of certificate manager,
thus
allowing you to disable certificate checking or whatever on a per-site
basis. That's unlikely to happen in the near future, however.
Pity! It is one of the things I miss most! Another really annoying
one is that I haven't yet found the mechanism (if its there) for disabling
cookies - I have to clean out cookies every time I use an external site.
They are a totally uunnecessary artefact when using modern technologies for
a web site.
