Hi,
Using OS 4.39 and this happens on more than one machine.
I've noticed that with recent versions of Netsurf, if a netsurf window is
open then the hard drive is continuously being accessed non stop.
r10640 works fine - no continuous hard disc access.
r10651 hard disc continuous if a netsurf window is open.
r10656 hard disc continuous if a netsurf window is open.
Is this a bug or a feature or have I got something wrong? I have reverted
to r10640.

It's a feature until such time as we have sufficient information to
debug a number of issues we cannot reproduce ourselves. Please do not
revert to an earlier version, as that defeats the point of enabling the
extra logging.

I'm using r10659 and I noticed that continuous HD activitiy only
occurs when the mouse pointer is in the main netsurf window. It stops
when the mouse is moved away.

typically have to wipe the log from !Scrap every day, usually several
hundred Mb. It's a real pain, but necessary to stop the HD filling up.

Next time NetSurf is run, the previous log file is overwritten anyway. So
quitting and restarting NetSurf would have the same effect, without the
need to manually delete things from !Scrap.

The cache size option is for the memory cache and has nothing to do with
what's stored on disc. The memory cache size limit is applied when the
amount of stuff in NetSurf's cache is greater than that value and there
are things in the cache that is not currently in use.
The content of the !Scrap cache directory is probably thumbnails (for
global history) and source content from when you use View Source. You can
safely delete it.

I've now got this problem, having just logged into Yahoo! Groups.
NetSurf is continuously adding to the log file at about 1MB every 4 or
5 seconds. It's now got to 800MB. I'm not going to be able to send a
file of this size to the tracker even in a zip archive. There's
obviously an error that's causing it to loop indefinitely.
