Is NS now able to print? (Yes I know it can print some things). ;-)
I tried to print out a copy of my bank statement this morning, if it
hadn't have been for the slightly coloured background, I'd have been
presented with a completely white piece of paper.
So the background printed in various shades of light grey, but the black
text came out white.
Yes, the "Print All Text in Black" was ON.
Any knowable solution please.
I should note that I also have other HTML docs that NS prints white.
I can send a sample if required.

This sounds identical to the problem that Brian Howlett was seeing a while
ago. I've still not got to the bottom of it (and I'm not likely to, tbh -
I've pretty much run out of ideas).
It may be helpful if you could answer these questions:
What printer are you using?
What printer driver are you using?
What OS version are you running?
Which version of the Font Manager are you using?
Which version of Printers are you running?

FWIW I still have the problem, but as I said before it is only
with one
printer - the other one prints fine. This is quite likely to be a
printer driver issue.
As I rarely have a need to print web pages I'm not particularly
concerned.

Is there any progress in getting postscript printers to work under NetSurf?
Or should the postscript printer drivers still change first?

No. (It's only under RO5 that they break, anyhow).

Ideally, yes. I've had no response from Castle on this after I told them
it was mentioned as something to be implemented in the Font Manager
Functional Specification.
The only other thing we could do is to buffer the whole thing to a bitmap
and send that to the printer (which is what O2 does and probably others
too). It seems a nasty way of doing things, especially if printing to a PS
printer because you lose the ability for the printer to do font
substitution. I'm extremely reluctant to implement this.
Alternatively, we make NetSurf do what the printer drivers should be doing
and embed the font data correctly. However, I certainly don't know enough
about PostScript or font formats etc to even contemplate doing such a
thing.

I very rarely let O2 print anything, because of the insulting bad quality.
We didn't buy our RISC OS machines to let it print bit map fonts, did we?
I'll have to look for a local work around - PCL-printing, for example.

In RO not sure what you mean by printer driver. If you mean the module
PDriver it's version 3.28 (25th Nov 1998)
Select RO 4.39 (Kernel 6.80)
EasyFont Pro version 5.11 (4th Nov 2003)
Printers+ 1.91a (24th Jan 2004)
Nitty gritty.
I've constructed a small bit 'O Html that displays the problem
beautifully, well here it does.
Dunno if attachments are allowed on this, so I'll send a copy of this
posting, with the files to the ...admin address.
Fresco and the Oregano, Oregano2, Browse and WXL Print out okay.
In NS the file with the plain white background prints visibly only the
black underlines, but nothing else.
The file with the light coloured background prints with white text where
the black text should be, the underlines still print out black.
Also withe the attached is the very plain version, it has no tables, no
Font settings etc.
I've also used Printers 1.64a, and 1.90b4 to see if there's any change in
the print output... Just the same as 1.91a.

I'm asking because it was getting bounced by sourceforge 'cos it had an
attachment.
Though the last one as a SparkFS archive rather than .zip seemed to go

I can make it happen at my command with a variety of
font changes.
The font I chose for this expedition was NewHall.Medium.
