Gmail In Netsurf 3.9
by Justin Wierbonski
Hey all, I did manage to get NS 3.9 built on my Powerbook G4, but noticed
when trying to access gmail when javascript is enabled, even if I try html
mode, it won't load. I just get a page with an ---> on it. If I turn off
javascript then html mode loads fine.
So my question is, is there a fix for this, or is there a keyboard shortcut
for turning off/on javascript? Or is there something I need to change on my
system to allow the html version load without shutting off javascript?
Thank you!

Request for features and package maintainer
by Bret Busby
Hello.
I am using what is identified as
NetSurf 3.2 (26th August 2014)
on UbuntuMATE Linux 16.04.x .
NetSurf is not included in Ubuntu 18.04, as a repostory package (if
this is the correct way of putting it), as, from what I understand,
NetSurf now lacks a package maintainer for Ubuntu Linux.
Many users of Ubuntu Linux, like me, are not sufficiently advanced, to
be competent enough to build packages from source code.
So, if someone could become a NetSurf package maintainer for Ubuntu
Linux, it would be good, for users like me, and, Netsurf could
(hopefully) be restored to being included as a repository package, for
the latest version of Ubuntu Linux (and, the latest stable version of
Netsurf, could be available as a repository package).
Now, to the request for features...
1. with displayed images, when clicked with the non-dominant mouse
button, some other browsers include two options that NetSurf does not
include, in the menu that is thence displayed; "Open image in new tab
(and, some other browsers also have "Open image in new window")", and,
"Save image as.."
2. In the Tools menu, in some other web browsers, is an option to
Spellcheck, for instance, checking the spelling in this message that I
am writing, in using NetSurf to access this gmail account.
So, I am wondering whether, if these features are not already included
in NetSurf v3.8 (which is not available in the Ubuntu Linux
repositories), these features could be added to NetSurf.
Thank you in anticipation.

Getting the fb frontend to work
by Cág
Hi everyone,
After successfully compiling Netsurf with the framebuffer frontend on
NetBSD (it required a patch for the Makefile, attaching it, please
consider merging it), it doesn't start with either "The sdl surface is
not available from libnsfb" if run without arguments other than -v, and
"The x surface is not available..." if run with `-f x`.
Do I need to install some additional software, or link it with
something else (I built it with pkgsrc; if you miss an
`.include <...buildlink3.mk>`, you can run into a problem; currently
there are gperf, librsvg, lcms, openssl, curl, libxml2, and mng
included).
The version is 3.8.
Thanks!
