My wish: To be able to save just the HTML file
by Vesa Paatero
Hi,
My wish for Netsurf developers is a simple one: To be able to save just
the HTML file of a web page with link references intact. Currently,
Netsurf always saves the whole web page, i.e. the HTML file with links
changed to point to the associated files saved into a directory
automatically created for them. I imagine it would be relatively easy to
enable saving just the HTML page, yet it currently can't be done ... or
if it can be done, please let me know.
Thanks for considering it!

Paypal
by Cristopher Dewhurst
Hi,
There used to be an intermediate screen when logging into Paypal which
had the "One Moment" or "Please Wait" messages; on Netsurf this would
be forever but there was a series of links below the message which you
could click on to go to your account etc. which did work.
Just tried to log in to Paypal and the "One Moment" message is the
same but the links appear to have gone.
This is with JS disabled (JS enabled gives a blank white page)
If there a workround in Netsurf / possibility of tweaking Netsurf to
work?

dropzone on a web page
by Jim Nagel
It's good to see the World Out There starting to adopt drag-and-drop
in some situations where Acornuts have taken it for granted for 30
years.
For instance http://onlinemd5.com is a service that calculates the MD5
checksum for any file without having to upload it: you just drag the
file out of its directory to the dropzone on the web page. This works
a treat in Windows on my laptop.
Unfortunately, though, not in RiscOS Netsurf: if the file is a Jpeg
or text, Netsurf displays the picture or text rather than feeding the
file to the MD5 calculator.
Of course, it could be that the calculation is performed by Javascript
so Netsurf couldn't handle the job anyway.
But I'm curious about the technique involved in registering a file's
pathname by this "dropzone" method. Can Netsurf cope with this in
principle?

Here the link does open with RO 4.39, running on RPCEmu.

The link opens here with NS #2107 (and #2078) on RiscPC, RO 6.20.
However the 'Find an event' button doesn't work, because it needs JS at
a level not yet supported by NS.

No hassle at http://bugs.netsurf-browser.org/ . Create an account, if
you don't have one, then click on 'Report Issue'. In the 'Reported in CI
build #' field, enter the number without the '#', otherwise a posting
error will occur. After completing the form, click _adjust_ on 'Submit
Report' so that, if a posting error does occur, you are able to return
to the completed form, without re-typing the data.

Trouble is, this gives a Windows .exe file.
(Dave, do you recommend this in your Windows work, or
is it just something appended by your email provider?)
What would people recommend to do the same job in Ro?

I just tried the latest daily Atari build (2105) but I am still getting the
CSS Base error message.
At that point the log file looks like this :

I don't know what to try that might help.
The last working version I have is No. 1917
