Nervous tick
by Richard Porter
When Netsurf is displaying the following page and others on the same
site the pointer starts flickering 2 or 3 times a second between a
pointing hand and an hour glass.
http://www.therailengineer.com/2012/04/26/bs11000-working-together-achiev...
This only happens when the top part of the page is displayed. If you
scroll down it stops; if you scroll back up so that most of the image
is shown it starts again. If you're working in another window over the
top it stops. If you bring NetSurf to the top it resumes. What's going
on?
Currently using r13534.

NetSurf on Virtual Acorn
by Alan & Sally
Hi All,
I have Virtual Acorn on my Mac G5 running OS 10.5.8. The RISC OS in VA is 4.39.
Netsurf 2.9 runs nicely on this set up but I have had no luck with any of the later
development versions. I have just downloaded 3.0 Dev #833 with the same result.
The problem is that all the recent versions don't connect to the internet. The
message I get is "Resolving timed out after 30000 milliseconds." The settings are
the same ones that 2.9 is using, so I am at a loss with what to do. Has any one got
a fix for this?
The development versions all run well on my Risc PC under OS 3.5. So the
problem seems to be specific to VA and the development versions on the Mac.

Text area refresh
by Peter Slegg
While work is being done on textareas maybe it is a good time to raise this again ?
When typing in a textarea, each key press causes a refresh of the entire textarea.
You may not notice this on a fast cpu but on a 68060 it is very noticeable
and the more text there is, the slower it gets.
Could this be improved by just refreshing the current line ?

Peter

dv #1012 continous loop > alt/break > freeze
by Brian Bailey
Hi
Of late, when loading Pluto mail with HTML content, sometimes rendering
fails to complete, goes into a loop, and Alt/Break freezes the machine.

Imae problems with Netsurt
by David H Wild
Recent builds of Netsurf have gone backwards on images,
Try http://www.flickr.com/photos/barkingbill/
The initial page displays correctly but, when you click on one of the
thumbnails you find that the little strip of images is missing with just
the black square showing which is the selected picture appearing. That's
with Javascript turned off. setting Javascript on means that the main
picture doesn't appear either.

CSRF verification failed
by Martin Bazley
As the NetSurf team now appear to be gearing up for a 'stable' release,
I must take this opportunity to attempt once more to push this bug back
up the agenda:
http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&aid=3586760&group_id=51719&at...
Seriously. It's still happening in the latest build, and it doesn't
happen in 2.9. It's perfectly and trivially reproducible. If not
fixed, it will be a regression in 3.0. Round where I come from, that's
a blocker.

Update notification
by John Williams
I have recently been ranting elsewhere about how banks could identify if a
bank account balance had changed since a previous access to avoid lengthy
authentication procedures to no sensible avail.
It occurs to me that the NetSurf download site could do something similar:
Leave a cookie with the last development version noted, and then only offer
a subsequent version, otherwise terminating the potential download, perhaps
with an appropriate message!
OK - makes my software potentially redundant - but so much more
user-friendly!
Just an idea, not thought through though (bedtime soon!).

Thanks Micheal that's a lot better.
Still a little flickering but it doesn't miss keystrokes like before.
I know it is a small improvement for everyone else but small performance
improvements will hopefully help allround.
