Nervous tick
by Richard Porter
When Netsurf is displaying the following page and others on the same
site the pointer starts flickering 2 or 3 times a second between a
pointing hand and an hour glass.
http://www.therailengineer.com/2012/04/26/bs11000-working-together-achiev...
This only happens when the top part of the page is displayed. If you
scroll down it stops; if you scroll back up so that most of the image
is shown it starts again. If you're working in another window over the
top it stops. If you bring NetSurf to the top it resumes. What's going
on?
Currently using r13534.

small problem with raspberry pi site
by John Rickman Iyonix
Version 2.9, and version 3.0 (2012-10-03_19-43-06) of NetSurf mess up
the top menu line of the raspberry pi home page by overlaying the
text, "Skip to primary content" over the menu items.
I don't have the expertise to be able to tell whether this is this a
bug in NetSurf or is caused by a badly written web-page?
(The page displays correctly using Chromium browser on Lubuntu)

NetSurf running out of memory
by Brian Jordan
The page shown at www.bjordan.org.uk/test/index.html has started
throwing up a "NetSurf is running out of memory" error since at least
NetSurf 3.0 (Dev CI#471) and up to 492.
In fairness the file is a data file named as .html and RISC OS file
typed as HTML; it is prepared for use in a program which later adds it
to a template file to produce a valid page. The file contains valid
HTML and for many years I have been able to open it in NetSurf as part
of the editing process.
It opens as expected in NetSurf 2.9 and in the main Windows browsers
and is available in a .zip file at www.bjordan.org.uk/test/test.zip

Text box edit
by Jess Hampshire
Hi
Would it be possible to have an option to use the system editor to
edit text boxes?
(Also it would be nice to have a system to set the mode.)
It would be nice to be able to use StrongEd's mail mode on gmail, for
example.
Thanks

Problem with https site
by Steve Joyce
Using Netsurf 3.0 dev CI #531
RiscPC running Adjust 4.39
NS fails to connect to Natwest card services, timing out after 30
seconds. Site is ok according to Firefox/Windows xp.
Tried several times with same result.
Can only get site to load with pre 3.0 versions of Netsurf - eg 13571
dated March 2012.
Cheers,
Steve

Unable to access the Internet with recent RISCOS test builds
by Clive Bonsall
With VRPC AdjustSA Mac and RISCOS 4.39 …
I find that the most recent test builds of Netsurf will not access the Internet. Netsurf loads OK, but clicking on a URL does nothing and eventually times out. Netsurf 2.9 is fine, as is test build r13115. I believe I have updated !Boot and !System correctly, and have the latest versions of Iconv and Tinct installed.
Can anyone suggest what the problem might be?

Google + -Your Browser is no longer supported
by John Rickman Iyonix
A web page with the subject message appears when I try to access
Google+ from NetSurf.
https://plus.google.com/
Clicking on learn more the next page says:
Google+ is supported in the following browsers:
Windows: Chrome, Firefox 3.6 and beyond, Internet Explorer 8 ...
Linux: Chrome, Firefox 3.6 and beyond
Mac: Chrome, Firefox 3.6 and beyond, Safari 4 and beyond
Is this a good case for faking the User-Agent string?

Image align and heading tags
by Harriet Bazley
On Netsurf 2.9 an image with ALIGN="LEFT" (for example) will wrap any
following text around it, including H1/H2/H3 tags.
On Netsurf 3.0 the same HTML markup results in the heading appearing
below the image and no wrapping taking place. Behaviour with text
other than headings appears to be the same.
Is this a bug, or was the previous behaviour erroneous? (in which case I
need to rewrite some of my HTML which relied on this)

Word wrapping
by Richard Porter
NetSurf is still inclined to split words or expressions over two lines
where there is no white space or hyphen. For example this heading,
<h3 class='post-title entry-title' itemprop='name'>
Local clothes collection service helps raise £250,000 for Air
Ambulance
</h3>
resulted in the pound sign being displayed at the end of one line and
the figures on the line below. The wrap was caused by an image on the
right.
I'm using NS #488.
