losing an unreadable colour scheme
by Jim Nagel
the other day i tried to read a webpage that had blue print on a dark
blue background. i couldn't make out the text.
now, gold ol' Fresco had an option (Display > Document colours) that
could be deselected in a case like this. Shift-F5 for short.
could i suggest this for Netsurf, please?

spurious newlines in lists in tables
by Tim Hill
I have just noticed an oddity, even with the latest build. Please will
someone check that I'm not going mad and I haven't done something
inadvertent to the HTML in the extract here:
http://www.timil.com/riscos/netsurf_query.htm
This file is an extracted part of the very old index page which lives on
my intranet and may be available here: http://81.31.96.206/ as the home
page.
If you don't see an extraneous newline between "panel" and "Radio" try
making the window narrower. Though the line is packed with other
browsers I have tried don't seem to miscalculate the need for a newline.
On my home page, the third column gathers many extraneous newlines when
the page narrows, but only after the word 'configuration' in each case.

Agreed. However, if you select the text in the NetSurf window, and drag
the selection to a filer window, the saved text file is correct.

saving text loses spaces
by Jim Nagel
when text is saved from (say) a Wikipedia article, Netsurf loses the
space character immediately following the ">" closing an HTML tag.
this happens when saving the text out of Wikipedia's printer-friendly
version too.
using build r6288 here.

Problem <body class="index">
by Torrens (lists)
Nersurf 2.0 (Dev) (24 Feb 2009 11:00) r6612
http://www.fulfords.co.uk/index.php
really screws up badly. Problem seems to be <body class="index"> tag, as
when the class="index" is removed, the page displays OK.
I suspect it may be a misdeclared CSS item. But IMO it shouldn't srew up
so badly

Socket exhaustion
by Simon Smith
I've noticed that recent builds of Netsurf (3 over the last 2-3 days) seem
to exhaust my available network sockets sooner. Is anyone else finding this?
I'm currently on r6605, and up until about 3 days ago I could go weeks
without running out.
My usual usage is dialup, connecting for minutes at a time, then
disconnecting. I cycle through about a dozen regularly-visited sites,
including an active phpBB forum. Rinse, repeat. It's as if the newer builds
are behaving much the same as the older builds, but hit the socket threshold
just slightly sooner. So the same internet behaviour that used to be fine
(I'd hit the socket limit only every few weeks, on 'heavy usage days') is
now triggering the problem noticeably more often.

Thanks; I've downloaded it again and it seems to be working.
I must have happened to hit a bad one!

Blanking text box content
by Harriet Bazley
Before I embark on another 2Mb+ of download... is there a problem with
my latest version of NetSurf (20 Feb) or is it just me?
The browser seems to be blanking the content of text areas before
submitting them: I've tried Wikipedia, IMDb film reviews and GMail, but
while I can drag in text files, paste via the global clipboard and type
directly into the text area, the receiving website either simply
displays the content submitted as a complete blank, or complains about
missing data.
I'm very grateful to the NetSurf team for fixing the obscure issue with
the IMDB data submitting system that meant you couldn't *get* to the
text area entry screens, but now I can't actually communicate any
data.... Typing into ordinary text icons seems O.K.
