Bad redirect URL
by Paul Vigay
I'm not sure what's changed, but NetSurf is recently reporting more and
more of these errors - probably 1 in 10 websites I visit, now gives the
error. I'm sure it never used to be this bad.
http://www.proxynavigation.com is another example.

Not a fluke. I get it too (RO 5.13, NetSurf r6177). In fact this
business of displaying inline graphics from the wrong baseline has
been a feature of NetSurf for many years. Awstats bar charts appear
upside down, for example.

subscript isn't

a thread in another forum about the origin of the "0x" prefix for hex
numbers had me look up http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hexadecimal
skip to the section called "Representing hexadecimal" and i see
Netsurf turning subscripts into superscripts.
is this a fluke of my system or does everybody get the same?

NetSurf not handling redirect...?
by Paul Vigay
I'm not sure if anyone here has tried Untangle (www.untangle.com) but I've
just built an untangle server for a client and am testing the web
proxying/filtering on it.
When a website is blocked, you should get a nice big warning message saying
the web page was blocked because it was considered inappropriate etc., with
a no entry sign graphic and a reason code/which filter triggered it. This
works as I've just tried visiting a blocked site using Oregano.
However, NetSurf doesn't give the untangle server error page, instead just
giving a RISC OS error message saying "Bad redirect URL". Any ideas?
This is the latest (r6145) build.

attacked by a Klingon
by Jim Nagel
a few mysterious entries appeared in my font list, things like
"ST;Klingon". i think there were five items prefixed "ST;", with that
curious semicolon. i made a textfile in Edit display in this Klingon
font. (using RiscOS 4.39, Netsurf r5991)
these fonts have disappeared from the list now, possibly because i
went to FontDir and told it to do "Active > Default".
just before i noticed the strange fonts, i was using Netsurf and
downloaded a PDF, some of which i read with Riscript 5.03.
i searched Riscript's folder of downloaded fonts for "Klingon", also
the hundreds of fonts in FontDir: nothing found.
in Netsurf's "Choices... > Fonts" i find ST on the list, but there is
no submenu, no Klingon. choosing ST as the sans-serif font seems to
cause Netsurf to hang. i searched within !Netsurf and its choices
folder for a file called ST: nothing found. didnt find any font
directories within Netsurf. i quit and restarted Netsurf: no ST on
its font list now.
so i'm mystified. what's "ST;"? whence did this Klingon arrive?
i think i've seen this phenomenon in the past but never investigated.

Flybe site overprints itself
by Jim Nagel
tried to look at this site, emailed to me in a "pay just the tax"
offer from Flybe, but Netsurf (r5672) displays the graphics
overlapping and unreadable:
http://www.c-f-1.com/HTMLEmail.aspx?emailid=MTU0NzExMjg2Mw== then click the "Book now" link.
with Netsurf r5672 the graphics overlapped unreadably.
i downloaded the latest build (r5991) and now see a message saying "we
have had to scale down our homepage to allow you to continue to [words
overlapped]ossible we will revert back to our standard homepage.
[overlapped}ding." -- which, OK, is an improvement!
then click the link for "just pay taxes" offer and the orange panel
still overlaps some of the key text.
clicking the first two fields, and the fourth, on the orange form
fails to work, but the rest of the fields do work. the "Search"
button fails. is that Javascript or something else?

More overwriting
by John
http://traintimes.org.uk/ unfortunately also superimposes a window over
text on its main page. (Also using 15 Jan r6073)
Any chance of sorting that one out, please?
