Clearly Rob's posting wasn't clear enough, seeing as you've missed the
point of it :)
The issue is not that bugs are being reported -- we're very grateful for
that. It is, instead, that a Log file on its own does not constitute a
bug report. There are many things the Log file can tell us, but a
description of the exact things the user was doing when the fault occurred
can often be equally, if not more, useful.
The bug tracker, despite its faults, does at least result in some context
being given. So far, the bugs@ mail alias has not (even when we've replied
to mails sent to that address asking for context). Therefore, we've shut
it down until such time as a better solution is forthcoming.

Object scroll bars
by Paul Vigay
Are there any plans (or timescale) to add support for scroll bars on
embedded objects?
I'm currently developing a website for a client, and I'm using the <object>
tag instead of frames. Whilst it 'almost' works on NetSurf, there is no
scrollbar so you can't read the bottom.
Example at http://test.digitalphenomena.co.uk/abar/menu2.html

Hi,
I'm posting this to the mailing list too, as I have had zero success in
contacting you directly using the address you provide (I've never
received a reply, and you keep doing as we ask you not to), and hope
that you subscribe to this list or somebody on this list can pass the
message on.
Please do not email us log files from crashed sessions of NetSurf with
zero context. We did not request the log, as suggested in your
subject line, nor any of the previous dozen. It is not helpful in the
least, and wastes our and your time. Please either use the bug tracker,
or report issues on this mailing list. You may be requested to send us
the log file /after/ you have done this.
Thanks.

Altering default window size
by Tricia
I'm fairly sure I did know how to alter the default size of the
window in NetSurf but have forgotten (senior moments in spades these
days) and although I've looked in the archives cannot find the
information.
Please could SKS remind me?
Many thanks,

Website
by David Mills
Pleas could SKS have a look at
http://greatyarmouthhistory.com
and tell me what is wrong with the site before I contact the owner, who
recognises problems with
Firefox and other browsers.
I'd like to make him aware of NetSurf.

Export PDF functionality in NetSurf
by John Tytgat
I'm happy to announce we just did the first merge of Adam Blokus' GSoC work
(providing Export PDF functionality in NetSurf) to our main development
branch.
This means that this functionality is now available in the RISC OS
Development Builds <URL:http://www.netsurf-browser.org/downloads/testbuilds>
or for anyone building his own copy using
svn.netsurf-browser.org/trunk/netsurf as SVN source (note: for the latter
ones, there are new library dependencies).
This GSoC PDF project is not over yet and we are aware of a couple of
issues which will be dealt with during the coming weeks. The most important
ones are:
- PDF files are currently uncompressed (hence, could become quite large)
allowing us to examine them more easily.
- A couple of possible size and render speed optimisation still need to
be considered.
- In the currently produced PDF files, standard fonts are used and there
isn't proper Unicode support yet. So it is likely you can see odd
characters being used when viewing the PDF files.
Enjoy,
John, as mentor of Adam's work.

This usually happens if there's a space in the path containing the file.
The workaround's simple -- copy the file you want to upload to somewhere
that doesn't have a space in the path (e.g the root of a RAM disc).
Regardless, your issue is fixed in r4735.

Failure to submit logfie to the bug tracker - yet again.
by Dr Peter Young
I've just submitted bug report 2027765 about a fatal crash on
www.traintimes.org.uk and have once again been unable to send the
logfile. This is 10K log when zipped, and appears to have been
truncated by the crash. On trying to submit it with the file, I get
the error "failed creating formpost data", as invariably happens when
I try to do this.
Please, what is wrong and where?
With best wishes,
Peter.
