You're far better off emailing the users' mailing list; not least as that
allows other people to help. Details can be found at

Well, without a better description of the problems you were having, it's
hard to help you use the tracker in the future. The reason we ask for
issues to be reported on the tracker is that they will get lost otherwise.

Logins, cookies and crashes
by David J. Ruck
When accessing a site (such as a phpBB forum) which allows you to log in
and stay logged in, you can start and stop NetSurf as many times as you
like, and the site will always recognise you are still logged in when
visiting the pages. However if NetSurf crashes, after restarting the site
asks for a login again.
What in NetSurf gets reset in a crash so that the site no longer accepts
the cookie? Could this be prevented so restarting after a crash is no
different to restarting after a controlled exit? This would prevent session
information on the website being lost due to the crash.
Cheers

Window jumps to the right when vertical scroll bar needed.
by Barry.Allen
Hi Folks,
I don't know whether this is a recent phenomenon but when a window
opens which needs a vertical scroll bar the contents of the window jump
to the right by the width of the scroll bar. Is this recent or have I
just not noticed it in earlier versions.
Netsurf 1.0 and latest 15th of July version.

Interaction with TapirMail
by Chris Shepheard
Hi,
I hope I'm not talking about a "red herring" here but just lately I've
noticed a problem sometimes when trying to fetch emails with TapirMail
whilst Netsurf is running. No errors are reported from either program
it's just that TapirMail never seems to be able to connect to the
server.
TapirMail is v.1.04 and Netsurf 10 June 2007 20:00, RO 4.02
I can't find any way of definitely triggering the problem and it is
certainly intermittent however quitting Netsurf always cures the
problem.
However it appears to also affect VARPC-SE on the laptop. There I got
an error of Socket not connected: 25 (or very similar - 25 is
definitely the figure) whilst trying to send an email. Again quitting
Netsurf cured the problem.
Has anyone else experienced similar or is it a known problem?
Chris

Re: Interaction with TapirMail
by Gordon F McLaren
Hmm! I've been having this problem for many months, but as no-one else
appeared to be having similar problems so I've ignored it ;-(
There doesn't appear to be a definitive cause. Sometime it happens with
TapirMail loaded then running Netsurf then trying to use TapirMail
login again, but other times if Netsurf has been run first then
TapirMail will run once with Netsurf still loaded then fail on further
usage!

Gordon McLaren

Memory
by Phil
For give me for raising this again if its already been raised, but is
there an optimum setting to stop Netsurf running out of memory. I only
have 40MB or so but how do you make Netsurf release memory it has used.
If it can be..
Thanks

Display oddity
by Tricia
Not sure whether this has been raised before - apologies if I am
inadvertently going over old ground. When accessing some sites which
require user names, passwords etc. the 'boxes' where they should be entered
are too small for the text to show. This is particularly noticeable on the
www.barclays.co.uk login page. Is there a setting which I have missed in
configuration which can solve this?
Thanks,

HSBC once again.
by Dr Peter Young
I've reported a problem whereby the HSBC personal banking site makes
NetSurf hang. The site has been redesigned; it now looks horrible, but
it doesn't cause a hang, at least today.
I've posted a follow-up on the bug tracker, and I'll post again when
I've had a few more successful sessions on this site.
With best wishes,
Peter.
