Although I am generally pleased with Netsurf, and spend many hours
entertaining my friends with it's unique capabilities, especially with
its graphical History, I still cannot print with it. I keep on getting
the following error code:
'An error has occurred when printing: Undefined font handle (print
This happens on all five of our machines, all RPC SA running !Printers
1.91a, on Select or Adjust 4.39. It happens regardless of whether it's
asked to print to printer or print to file. Standard fonts are used.
When trying to install Riscos 6 (that's another story) I cleaned one
machine down to a bare disc, with a fresh !Boot, installed printers,
still !Netsurf wouldn't print, with the same error code.
I reported it as a bug ages ago, but nothing seems to have been done
This email has not been scanned for Windows viruses or anything else,
because it's RiscOS and eats them without getting indigestion
Hi. Is it normal for the Hard disc to be continually accessed (very short
duration) once you have accessed a web site even though you've closed the
window. This continues until Netsurf is quit. Restarting Netsurf does not
introduce the accessing until you access another web site.

I've posted a bug report on the tracker about having had the HSBC site
http://www.hsbc.co.uk/1/2/personal/pib-home twice completely stiff
NetSurf, needing the reset button to escape the hang. Once was on the
log-in page and the other using "Return to my accounts".
I know there are other HSBC customers who use NetSurf to access their
accounts; have any of these also found this, or is my setup to blame?

Following the release of 1.0, here's the plan for NetSurf versions.
* Bugs in 1.0 will be fixed and released as 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, ..., as needed.
There will probably be no new features in these versions. The aim is to
remain stable and low-risk with no major work.
* Main development will continue in a version called "2.0 (Development)".
There will be automatic test builds of this (as before). This is the
cutting-edge version with higher risk of problems, but also new features.
Eventually this will lead to the 2 series.
We hope that many of you on this list will continue with us on the test builds
journey! You can always go back to 1.n when it goes wrong.

Just a quick note to document some problems which seem to have been
thrown up by the recent overhal of the way "include"s are handled.
Firstly the pre-built stuff for ROS builds available from the web
site. The prebuilt libxml2 archive contains the directory structure
"include.libxml2.libxml.*/h" while the source appears to be looking
The prebuilt header and C files (e.g. scanner.c) seem to have the
wrong permissions so they are visible but not downloadable.
Finally I find I need the attached patch before I can compile
successfully under either ROS or a Posix environment. I have a feeling
I've been through this loop before but can't remember what the outcome
was. Is my OSLib (v6.90) too old or too new?
Other than that it still builds fine under ROS.
I've reported this on the bug tracker. After a Netsurf (1.0) crash I
get the message on loading:
The hotlist was unable to be correctly loaded.
(<html>...<body>....<ul> not found).
and the Hotlist symbol is greyed out.
In Choices.WWW.Netsurf the Hotlist has 'Empty Document. The document
sent by the server is empty'. I use Bookmaker for my hotlist so am not
worried by losing it, but I'd like to know how to put this right.

After starting Netsurf on an A7000+ machine with 76 MB RAM and running
RISC OS 4.39 Adjust I'm wondering about the change of the hourglass.
Sometimes the colours change to yellow/red. Is this still happen on
all machines or just here?
Another point: Running Netsurf and shotdown the machine freeze it. I
don't know why. This was still happen by all versions of Netsurf
running here up to version 1.0. I can also "quit" Netsurf before
without problems, but a shutdown freeze my machines, also. This is
just happen after running Netsurf so I suppose it's on Netsurf.
Thank you for your support here.
Could one of you experts have a look at the Garden Organic/HDRA site.
This is a horrible mess on Netsurf Build 12 Mar 2007. Is this a Netsurf
problem, or a ghastly site ?
