Background colours
by Dave Symes
Got a problem... guess there is an answer but can't seem to find it.
Silly people create sites with black backgrounds, then plonk grey text on
it... or Dark blue text.
In Oregano, If I tick Off the "Use Document colours" the black background
is replaced with white and I can see the grey text.
Is there a comparable option in NetSurf? I'm using NS (02 Dec 2007 06:00)

Fatal crash on BBC beta home page.
by Dr Peter Young
The new BBC beta home page ( www.bbc.co.uk/home/beta ) has been
gradually getting more manageable with NetSurf (currently 23 Dec 2007
16:15 on RISC OS 5.13). However, today it has crashed the app with a
fatal error. I've tried to report this on the bug tracker, but get an
error message when I try to submit. Is this because the log file is
too big? If so, how should I get this report and log file to the
developers?
TIA,
With best wishes,
Peter.

Unicode font library probs on a9home
by WP Blatchley
Hi,
I've been running NetSurf 1.1 on my a9home (RO 4.42)
happily for many weeks now. The other day I installed
Castle's C/C++ development suite, and now I get this
error when I try to load NetSurf:
"The Unicode library could not be initialized. Please
report this to the developers."
I know this problem came up for Iyonix users before (I
think it was caused by a missing string in a ROM
messages file), but has anyone suffered this on the
a9? Can any developer give me a clue as to what's
changed on my machine so I can revert it?
Many thanks,
Will

Bug report
by David J. Ruck
Hi,
please can someone with sourceforge admin rights change bug 1851778
to be submitted by me. I hit submit without realising it hadn't
rememeberd me. I'm sure it didn't used to allow anonymous submissions.
Cheers

Redirect loop when logging into Google webmail
by Harriet Bazley
I'm not reporting this as a Netsurf bug because I don't think it is one;
but apparently Google have recently upgraded their webmail software in
such a way that attempting to log in via http://mail.google.com/ results
in an endless loop instead of redirection to a suitable log-in page
giving the non-JavaScript options. This is apparently a known bug in
the new software (users with JavaScript enabled are likewise complaining
that they are locked out in an endless refresh loop or else are being
forced into the 'plain' HTML instead of the JavaScript pages), and the
official workarounds currently advised are either to switch your Gmail
configuration to UK instead of US English, or else to use the URL
https://mail.google.com/mail/?ui=1 to gain access to the non-JavaScript
pages. Obviously the first option is a non-starter via Netsurf -
especially if you can't log in in the first place - but I can confirm
that the second one seems foolproof.
Anyway, I've been advised to mention this on the mailing list, so I
am....
