[Netsurf-develop] Recent URLs
by Richard Porter
Is it possible to turn off the display of recent URLs? Netsurf throws
up the whole of the recent URLs file even when the URL writable icon
is blank! When I type in "h" it decides to get rid of all the numeric
IP addresses, and when I type in "t" the whole lot disappears.
Shurely shome mishtake?
It should have something to go on before trying to guess where I might
be going - preferably more than "http://www." or "http://" followed by
something other than "w".

[Netsurf-develop] Weird installation problem
by Keith Hopper
Hi,
Having just received a little Aria cube (RISCOS 5.10) earlier this
week I have been installing various bits of software - including !Netsurf.
Everything else I have tried seems to work as expected - from StrongED
through Artworks, etc, etc - except !Netsurf!
When I double click on the Filer icon up comes an error window - could
be from the system as it has a green gear wheel icon on it - saying "Could
not read Aliases file." !Netsurf does not launch!
Has anyone any idea what it means and from where I should obtain such
a file? As I said, it appears to occur only with !Netsurf.

[Netsurf-develop] Certificates
by John Williams
I am currently setting up IPCop on an old PC to serve my RISC OS network.
The JS can be turned off on the web browser GUI (thanks, Mike!), but
NetSurf, which would be ideal for handling its CSS-based output, complains
about its 'certificate' and will go no further.
Is there a way of temporarily turning that aspect off, or white-listing IP
addresses, so that I can use NetSurf to manage IPCop?

[Netsurf-develop] Wimp Message
by Gavin Wraith
Please correct me if I am wrong, but I tried using WimpMon
to see if NetSurf emitted any Messages for other tasks to
catch when a link is clicked on. It appears not. That is a
shame, because it would be good if the Foundation Risc User
CD magazine could use NetScape as well as Oregano, Fresco et al.
It would be useful to have the option to filer_run Obey files
by clicking on links to them, also.

[Netsurf-develop] Processing instructions - wish list
by Keith Hopper
Hi,
I keep coming across more and more xhtml documents which contain
something like -
<?xml-stylesheet type="text/css" href="styles/xxxx.css" ?>
in the document prologue without a corresponding link in the head element
(ie -
<link rel="stylesheet" href="styles/xxxx.css" type="text/css" />
)
I know I mentioned this a couple of years or so ago, knowing that the
Netsurf parser happily (silently) accepts xml prologues - but, pretty
please, is it possible that at least the xml-stylesheet processing
instruction could be handled - perhaps by conversion to the internal form
of a link element?
I know that your priorities are necessarily different from mine - and
I really do appreciate the amazing amount of work you all do. If I could
have xml-stylesheet PIs and full list handling I would be even happier.

[Netsurf-develop] Netsurf with EasyFont Pro issue
by Graham Thurlwell
I'm not sure whether this is a bug or a feature, but I've noticed that
Netsurf no longer sees the fonts which I have installed in EasyFont Pro
5.05. Earlier test builds could see them, and all of the other apps on
this machine have them available.
The fonts that Netsurf /can/ see appear to be those inside !Fonts in
!Boot.Resources and wherever Select 3i4 keeps Homerton etc. *FontCat
lists all active fonts including the ones from EasyFont, and the result
of *Show Font$Path is:-
Font$Path(Macro) : IDEFS::Applicat.$.!BOOT.Resources.!Fonts.,<Font$Prefix>.,Resources:$.Fonts.,<EasyFSPro$Fonts>
Any suggestions? :-)
