I've seen this occasionally on the Mico: however, my experience is
that when this error occurs, forcing a reload of the page (ADJUST-click
on the Reload icon) will cause a second and this time successful fetch
to be attempted. I always wrote it off to a slow response at the far
end, although it does sometimes also happen when I paste a URL in from
another browser which has already loaded the page (although not
always rendered it!) without problems. In either case, a refetch
seems to do the trick.

[Netsurf-develop] Save ANT URL Error
by James Sargent
Hi,
Recent build (1-Sep-05 20.30), Menu > Page > Save location > ANT URL
Get a pop-up window with the message:
An unexpected error occured: Sprite doesn't exist
The SaveAs window has no associated Sprite.
Also from Object > Save Location > ANT URL.
Thanks,

Actually, TempDir doesn't conform with the PRMs but since this is a
fairly common oversight other applications have been modified to
cope. As has NetSurf now.

[Netsurf-develop] Different behaviour of NetSurf on Iyonix (RO5.09) and VRPC-Adjust (RO4.39)
by cbonsall
I am new to this list, so apologies if this issue has been reported
previously ...
I installed the latest build (01/09/2005) of NetSurf on both my Iyonix
(512Mb, running RO5.09) and on two xpPCs under VRPC-Adjust (RO4.39).
Whilst I have not found any problems with NetSurf on the Iyonix (other
than a general failure to access "https" addresses), many pages will not
display on NetSurf on VRPC, including the NetSurf HomePage. Typically,
this results in a:
"Sorry, NetSurf was unable to display this page. Could not resolve host:
.............. (domain name not found)"
The result is the same with VRPC on two different computers -- an Athlon
2600+ based desktop and a Sony Vaio laptop. All three computers share
the same Internet connection via the desktop xpPC.
Is this a known issue? Is there a solution?

[Netsurf-develop] JavaScript
by M.I. Abdullah
Hi all
I have been using NetSurf for a year on Iyonix and it has been a wonderful
browser (it is my default now with latest build-up) with very few problems
so far. However, I have recently tried to access google maps without any
success. I get a message that <JaveScript is disabled or not supported> and
suggests enabling it!
There is no obvious place in NetSurf for doing this and wonder whether it
supports JavaScript.
Any help will be greatly appreciated
Regards
Mohamed Abdullah

[Netsurf-develop] Re-direction oddity
by Keith Hopper
Hi,
I received the attached from ibank.barclays in response to a log off
request. I note, of course, that it is definitely not valid html - however,
Netsurf seems to recognise the refresh meta element - it displays
'Redirect' on the title bar - but then doesn't seem to follow the
re-direction.
I have advised the webmaster at Barclays, but thought that there might
also be a Netsurf oddity leading to the 'half recognised' re-direction.
Regards,
Keith

I believe it only occurred when doing a 'full page save', ie. creating
an 'application' directory containing the html and all the images.

[Netsurf-develop] Error
by Dave
There was chat recently about Oregano failing to download material.
I get a *lot* of download failures with NetSurf, the error message being:
Warning from NetSurf
"The file could not be saved due to an error: Is a directory"
SARPC Select RO 4.39 Drag a Save or Move anything to the icon bar icon of
a Harddisk or TempDir (QuantumSoft) and it gets Saved.
Invariably, drag a Save from NS to TempDir and it fails with the above
noted error.
Please, Why?
It shouldn't as all other applications I use, work with TempDir.
Cheers
Dave S
