[Netsurf-develop] Unicode resources
by A.Weston
On trying to load the Iconv module for the latest Netsurf download I
get this error message. Where do I get these resources?

[Netsurf-develop] Fonts and foreign alphabets
by Jerome Mathevet
I tried to follow the instructions posted by various posters for
displaying pages containing "foreign" alphabets. I grabbed a copy of the
CyberBIT font (plus CyberCJK, CJK standing for chinese, japanese,
korean, right ?) on the netscape.com ftp server. Converted them with
TTF2font (takes ages on a SA RPC !), installed them with the rest of the
!Fonts (along the files /Base98 and /Base99). The Messages1 file inside
!Fonts bears the new entries:
BEncoding_Base99:
BEncoding_Base98:
LFont_CyberBIT:*
LFont_CyberCJK:*
I configured Netsurf to use the CyberCJK font (except the "default" font
since no popup appears when I click on the icon to do that) and went to
www.iriver.co.kr. I saw no korean displayed by means of text strings
(only gifs). What can I try next ?
I also tried http://www.al-jazirah.com.sa, with NetSurf configured to
use CyberBIT. No arab in there. Also, I notice that there's never a
single space between 2 consecutive glyphs with CyberBIT (especially
apparent when english is displayed).
It's not an essential thing for me, I'm just experimenting and would
like to admire the beautiful display with chinese fonts for instance.
Btw, I have a RPC SA, RISC OS 4.02, NS Test Build (24 Apr 2005 22:00)
On a different note, keyboard shortcuts don't seem to work anymore.
Hitting RETURN with the "Open URL" window doesn't do anything.

[Netsurf-develop] Two Small Cosmetic Problems
by James Sargent
Hi,
I have a recent build of Netsurf (24-Apr-2005) and would like to report
two small cosmetic problems - running on an RPC with RO Adjust
1) I have enabled Adjust's rounded icon corners, when downloading a file
after a Destination is selected, there are the remains of the writable
icon's square corners left outside Adjust's rounded ones (after the icon
becomes non-writable).
2) When highlighting text in a web page, the characters on the same line
after the current selection "jiggle" slightly left and right as the
highlight is changed.
Thanks, though, for all the hard work!
Rgds,
James

[Netsurf-develop] textareas
by tony moore
Recent CVS Activity: 2005-04-20 12:24/: 'text import from global
clipboard, other apps & files and additional keys for editing
text in textareas'
This is excellent news!
Text import from clipboard, or files, works well but I have not
been able to find any editing keys, apart from backspace-delete.
Am I missing something?

It's only in the CVS version of OSLib.

Personally I stole a copy from John-Mark Bell's site:

For a while now I've been unable to build Netsurf due to a failure
during linking. The symbol
'xserviceinternational_get_ucs_conversion_table' is not found. It
looks like this comes from OSLib but I've got the most recently
released version I can find. (6.70 from ro-oslib.sourceforge.net) Do I
need a CVS build or is there a secret stash of later builds somewhere?

Re: [Netsurf-develop] Text URL suggestion

In fact, as of a fairly recent build, you can drag text files into the
URL icon of a browser window to launch it as an URL, so you could just
drag-select that URL and Ctrl-drag it into the URL icon at the top
of the window.
Dragging to the NS icon on the iconbar currently just opens it as a
text file, as you noted.

[Netsurf-develop] Text URL suggestion
by Stefan Bellon
Dragging Acorn URI and ANT URL files (and even memory saves) onto
NetSurf's iconbar icon and into the "Open URL" window works since a few
days.
However, when you memory save a text file containing a URL there, the
URL is displayed inside a NetSurf window instead of followed. This
could be especially useful when you want to follow a URL in the browser
window that is not marked as a link.
Take http://netsurf.sourceforge.net/builds/ for example. The 2005-04-23
22:26 commit has an URL in the commit message but it's no link.
Is there at present an easy way of following that link? If not, I
suggest selecting it and then Ctrl-dragging it onto NetSurf's iconbar
icon should open the URL.
Comments?
