[Netsurf-develop] NetSurf Metal Theme
by Richard Spencer
I've uploaded a simple NetSurf theme (just a Spritefile) at
http://www.richardspencer.freeuk.com/ns_metal.zip
To install, drag the !NetSurf dir over the top of your application,
select Choices from the iconbar>Themes>Metal, quit and reload.
Based on MIT's Galeon project's Remembrance theme, with an original
throbber I'm getting to like :-)
Please let me know likes or dislikes. The whole thing is very beta and
will be adapted as Netsurf grows/changes.

[Netsurf-develop] window drawing?
by Jeremy C B Nicoll
Build: 07 Aug 01:45 RO 3.70/3
When a window is being drawn on screen it seems to arrive frame first,
with the central section transparent showing other windows/pinboard
through it, then the content arrives.
Every time this happens I tense myself expecting a crash (because in
the past other apps that have done this have produced a crash). Is
this behaviour intentional - perhaps related to the window drawing
probelm that I recently reported (which you fixed)?

[Netsurf-develop] FTP URLs
by Stefan Bellon
Is it just me or doesn't NetSurf support FTP URLs properly? When I
click on a link to download a FTP URL, my web proxy comes back with the
following message:
Your request for http://ftp://ftp.domain.net/file/name could not be
fulfilled, because the domain name ftp could not be resolved.
This indicates that NetSurf incorrectly request the above URL which has
an additional "http://" prefixed.
Is it just me or a general, known bug?

[Netsurf-develop] Through a proxy
by Mike Gilbert
Hello
Just tried the 27th August build, and am pleased to report that it got
the Test Builds page through my proxy without timing out. Okay, so it
took over a minute, but it did work.
As ever, SlashDot, as linked from the default NS home page, is there in
seconds, and The Register is pretty quick too.
To save people flogging through message logs, the proxy is Squid as
built into IPCop 1.3, the box has also got DansGuardian 2.6 installed,
and no other browser I have suffers these problems (O1, O2, Fresco,
ArcWeb, Browse, Lynx, IE6 and FireFox...). And cURL and wget both work
fine.
Cheers
Mike

Assuming you unzipped the module from the zipfile downloaded from
tinct.net and either ran the !SysMerge obey file or used the system
configuration utility to merge the !System in the zip with that on your
machine, it should work fine. Otherwise, I can't think of anything else
that would cause that error other than a corrupt module.

[Netsurf-develop] Table rowspan and colspan
by kevin.bagust
I have finally managed to get NetSurf to compile on my Linux box. Thank
you Peter for the Links.
I have managed to implement the full rowspan and colspan attributes for
tables. I do not currently have write access to the CVS repository, what
is the best way to submit my changes to the project?

[Netsurf-develop] Table problem 27th Aug 23:15 build
by Keith Hopper
Hi,
Have a look at http://www.suse.de/ - there are four figures which
render across the document below which there are four text cells which do
not line-up with the figures as they should. Is this by any chance related
to the fact that the images are downloaded after the table is first
rendered?
Netsurf only keeps getting better!

[Netsurf-develop] Loading Draw File back into NetSurf
by Grahame
Hi,
I am using Test Build (26 Aug 2004 23:00).
I saved my bank statement as a Draw file but after coming off line
decided to print it from within NetSurf so dropped it back onto the
NetSurf Icon.
The file does not render correctly. Figures and columns don't line up
correctly (horizontally).
As I have a number of versions of NetSurf I loaded some of them to see
if they render ok.
Something has gone wrong between Test Build 31st July and Test Build 7th
August. Test Build 31st July 13:00 renders ok but the 7th August
1300 does not. Is this to do with changes to scaling within the window?
Loading the file into draw works ok.
Regards,
Grahame
