[Netsurf-develop] New bugs ?
by Jerome Mathevet
When I click on "Choices" then "Themes" and click on the pop-up menu
next to "Name", NS crashes. That didn't happen with the version from 02
May 2004 (I've just checked this)

When I try to change the prefered interface language in "Choices >
Browser" there's no pop-up menu appearing. If I also *conf. country
France before launching NS, no pop-up either.
Has anyone managed to get this to work or is it something on the TO-DO
list ?

[Netsurf-develop] Well Done
by Bryn Evans
I found and tried NetSurf at the start of last week.
After an extensive trial (10 minutes) I can see that
this is a Big Leap Forward.
There is just one immediate thing on my first impressions
wish list-
Please make it possible to fix the window opening position
and size, instead of having to drag-resize at each startup.
I managed to put in my own prefered Home page and a Hotlist
from Browse (Not editable), so all the other desirables I
can wait for as you have already produced a very workable
application.
Well done, and please keep up the good work.

[Netsurf-develop] screen corruption
by Jeremy C B Nicoll
I visted http://www.mw-software.com/software/artworks/aw2features5.html
and select-clicked on the screenshot link. The screenshot jpeg gets
overlaid on the top portion of the window I'm looking at.
(This was true in the 26th April build and the 5th May one). With
Oregano2 the screenshot is displayed in a separate screen/window.
With the 5th May build the final window has remnants of its own
contents and bits of other screen's contents displayed in it - redraw
not working right?

[Netsurf-develop] Banking with LloydsTSB
by Dennis Mews
There has been previous discussion on banking websites which are useable with Netsurf.
Although previous versions did not allow input of your username, the current version (05 May 0030) does indeed work and access is now possible.

[Netsurf-develop] Redrawing
by Mark Hutchinson
When you open a link in a new window the new window is not cleared so it is
as if it is transparent. If you drag other windows across it they leave
trails too - as if it's not redrawing.
A similar thing happens if you open a drawfile in a previously-used window -
it is drawn over the previous contents (instead of clearing first).
Nonetheless Netsurf just gets better and better!
Thanks
Mark Hutchinson

[Netsurf-develop] FASD project: Online survey launched
by Benno Luthiger
Dear Open Source developer
I am doing a research project on "Fun and Software Development" in which I
kindly invite you to participate.
You will find the online survey under http://fasd.ethz.ch/qsf/. The
questionnaire consists of 53 questions and you will need about 15 minutes to
complete it.
With the FASD project (Fun and Software Development) we want to define the
motivational significance of fun when software developers decide to engage
in Open Source projects. What is special about our research project is that
a similar survey is planned with software developers in commercial firms.
This procedure allows the immediate comparison between the involved
individuals and the conditions of production of these two development
models. Thus we hope to obtain substantial new insights to the phenomenon of
Open Source Development.
With many thanks for your participation,
Benno Luthiger
PS:
The results of the survey will be published under
http://www.isu.unizh.ch/fuehrung/blprojects/FASD/.
We have set up the mailing list fasd(a)webboard.ethz.ch for this study. Please
see http://fasd.ethz.ch/qsf/mailinglist_de.html for registration to this
mailing list.

No. I estimate omitting graphics would reduce executable size by 300K. 750K is
really out of the question. Even if the executable would fit, you wouldn't be
able to browse any pages without exhausting memory.
