[Netsurf-develop] No second chance saving a download
by Frank de Bruijn
Using test build 13 Dec 2004 22:30, I downloaded a zip file meant to
replace an earlier version. When I dragged the icon from NetSurf to a
directory, NetSurf objected, claiming 'a directory with that name
already exists'.
It gave me no chance to retry, either by changing the name for the
download or by removing the 'directory' (i.e. the existing zip file).
The icon in the NetSurf Download window couldn't be dragged anymore, so
I had to download the file again.

[Netsurf-develop] the register, a problem
by tony moore
Netsurf displays http://www.theregister.co.uk/ and its news pages
correctly. However, a full-save of a news page crashes Netsurf on
reloading, when NetSurf is offline.
This problem has surfaced only recently, occurring with builds on
or after 9 Dec 2004 (I have not yet checked 2004-12-13 22:30)

What about the above with a(n optional) self cancelling dialogue box?

[Netsurf-develop] OLE for Netsurf?
by Wim Ekels
Hi,
Would it be possible to make Netsurf use OLE as Fresco does?
Fresco lets you load a page and an icon on the topbar opene the
underlying code in your favourite editor.
After editing when saving the file again lets the browser updat
according the new save.
This is (for me) such an easy way of work that it is my sole browser
during editing my websites...
regards

[Netsurf-develop] Paypal
by David J. Ruck
Anyone sucessfully used NetSurf with Paypal?
I set up an account sometime ago at work, and used it to pay for some
software. Tonight I tried to use it for a club subscription from the latest
NetSurf (09 Dec 2004), and it got to the select card page. My existing card
was listed and seemingly selected, but hitting the continue button took me to
the add card page. I couldn't add the same card again so couldn't proceed
any further.
O2 didn't even get that far, timing out after pressing the pay button
on the preceeding page.
Cheers

[Netsurf-develop] Old bug still with us. :-)
by Stuart Halliday
Using Netsurf Test Build (09 Dec 2004 22:30)
I've noticed that this bug is still with us that I reported it back on 2004-
08-06.
If a Menu form has a first option element of no content then the resultant
menu icon is very small in width and so doesn't display the contents if the
menu text is changed.
See picture of this bug:
http://www.quantumsoft.co.uk/screen.jpg
Typical HTML code of this menu in the page is:
<select name="filter" id="historyFilter">
<option value=""></option>
<option value="not_spam" style="color: green">not_spam</option>
<option value="spam" style="color: red">spam</option>
<option value="__filter__magnet"><magnetized></option>
<option value="__filter__no__magnet"><unmagnetized></option>
<option value="unclassified"><unclassified></option>
</select>
It needs to take the widest text and use that as the width?
Comments? :-)

[Netsurf-develop] Multimap
by Anton
Just my ha'pennyworth....
www.multimap.co.uk (and various other URLs that take you to the same
place) produces pages which are essentially unusable with NetSurf.
I would not be surprised to hear from the experts that the page flouts
the rules of correct coding, but it is usable, and looks more or less
the same, using Firefox and Netscape. Oh, and using IE as well.
Using NetSurf test build 09 Dec 2004.

[Netsurf-develop] Flash badgers etc.
by Simon Smith
URLs with Flash:
http://parslow.com/mornington
(the 60s art deco logo should display either as a graphic without Flash, or
with a clock if Flash is active. Works OK on Oregano2, but NetSurf displays
a white area where the clock and graphic should be.
http://www.badgerbadgerbadger.com - very silly, displays in Oregano 2 but no
sound. Now, Netsurf correctly displays the 'Flash downloading, please wait'
welcome frame, then the image seems to disappear. I got a glimpse of about
one and a half badgers, then the window all went black. Oregano doesn't
manage to display the 'Flash downloading, please wait', but does manage to
show the animation.
I get the impression that Netsurf would work except that somehow the Flash
window is getting overwritten by other graphics.
Also, if I drag a file with filetype SWF to Oregano, it displays the
animation, while Netsurf does nothing. Double-clicking an SWF file merely
gives 'An aplpication that loads this type of file has not been found by the
Filer.'
Finally, a question - I'm not getting sound at the moment - should I? The
badger animation is 350k or so, and I assume that it includes both dancing
badgers and sound. Am I right?
